Champion racehorse Willie Cazals provided Wexford with many thrills during his racing career.
The winner of over $2 million in prize money, he is well versed in travelling, racing in three different continents.
A winner in Italy, Hong Kong and New Zealand, the striking grey bowed out in fashion, winning the Group One Livamol Classic for Hermitage Thoroughbreds Ltd in 2016.
Now owned by Sarah Denton, William is living a life of luxury during retirement.
How did Willie Cazals come into your care?
I knew Sarah and Andrew Scott through racing as I used to ride for them. I'd seen William race and asked if I could have him when he retired.
What does retirement now look like for William?
He's a sweetheart, however he wasn't sound enough for a competitive career. He's made the best grandpa to our young ones and gets spoilt rotten!
What do you love most about the thoroughbred?
You can't beat a good thoroughbred. They are a lot easier to train as they want to please. I've had a few over the years.
